Rwanda Quick Reference Card 2027
A 2-page printable covering RWF exchange rates, Kigali rent benchmarks, land prices, remittance corridors, and RRA tax basics.
Description
The Rwanda Quick Reference Card is a printable 2-page PDF built for diaspora Rwandans planning a return. It covers the RWF/USD and RWF/EUR exchange rate ranges over the last 12 months (the Franc has been one of Africa's more stable currencies), rent benchmarks in Kigali (Nyarutarama, Kiyovu, Kimihurura, Gacuriro, Rebero) and secondary cities (Musanze, Huye), the cost of a typical monthly food basket at Kimironko Market, and the standard remittance corridors (USD→RWF via Wise, WorldRemit, and MTN Mobile Money). It also includes land price ranges per square meter in Kigali's prime neighborhoods and emerging suburbs, plus a tax primer covering RRA PAYE, the 18% VAT, and the Rwanda Development Board's diaspora investment incentives. Rwanda's small size, low corruption, and aggressive digitization make it one of the easier environments to plan around — but land prices in Kigali have doubled since 2020. This card tracks that trajectory.

Why I made this
Rwanda was the easiest country to plan around — until I tried to find current land prices. The numbers are scattered. This card consolidates them.
