Savings Rate Tracker

Description

The Savings Rate Tracker is a pre-built Google Sheets template that does the math for you. Enter your monthly income and 8 expense categories (including family support — the 'black tax'), and the sheet automatically calculates your savings rate, total savings, and projects your annual and 5-year savings. It tracks 12 months side by side, shows a trend chart, and color-codes your savings rate (red = below 10%, yellow = 10-25%, green = 25%+). The template uses the same categories as the online Savings Rate calculator, so your numbers are consistent across tools. You can duplicate the sheet for each year and track your progress over the full 56-month countdown.

Why I made this

I was tracking my savings rate in a notebook and kept making arithmetic errors. A spreadsheet with pre-built formulas was the obvious fix — and I figured if I needed it, others did too.
